Overview

Founded in 1863, RUAG Munition produces the SM Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) System. Based in Switzerland, the company is an internationally recognized leader in military engineering and devotes itself to the development, production, distribution and maintenance of ammunition, subassemblies and ammunition systems. The company's research, development and production as well as inspection and testing facilities comply to meet the most stringent standards. In its ammunition components and explosives disposal plant, RUAG Munition disposes of ammunition parts and residual substances which are unsuitable for ecologically responsible recycling. RUAG Munition's primary business partners are the Swiss Army, foreign government departments, local and foreign authorities and private clients. RUAG Munition operates production plants in Thun (headquarters) and Altdorf, Switzerland employing nearly 600 people. It is one of the five industrial operations of RUAG Technology Group which has production sites in Switzerland, Germany and Sweden, and has expertise in high-precision technologies for the aerospace and defense sectors, automotive, semiconductor and mechanical engineering industries.

Distribution Agreement

EBA&D has entered into a Warehouse and Distribution Agreement with RUAG Munition enabling us to expand our product offerings to our international customer base, and will give us new capabilities to meet the developing requirements of defense and other government customers in the mine disposal product area.

Applications

Landmines and UXOs are a worldwide humanitarian problem. RUAG Munition has the solution with its SM EOD System. The product family has two basic types, smaller units like the SM EOD 20, 33 and 67 for manual demining and the heavy SM EOD 130 and 190 with more penetration power.
